How to Pimp Your Vision Board
The new year brings with it a fresh space to create, to think big and to learn how to visualize your goals into existence. You already have what you need in order to build the life you want. You just have to trust that no matter whether something went wrong in the past, you are fully capable of doing things right this time – and it starts with visualizing!
Visualization is one of the most powerful tools that is available in everyone’s arsenal to achieve great successes in life. According to Eilene Zimmerman, a writer from Forbes, she said that TD Bank surveyed more than 1,100 people and 500 small business owners nationwide. And the survey discovered that those who created a vision board were almost twice more confident that they would achieve their goals than those who did not make one. The survey also showed that 82% of the small business owners that used a vision board reported that they accomplished more than half of the goals they included on their board.
To put it simply, creating a vision board increases your chances of success. What we focus on expands. When you create a vision board of the things that you want and place it where you can see it often, you will be visualizing everytime you see those pictures. No matter if it is a healthier body, a loving relationship, money, confidence, a softer attitude, or building a multi-million dollar business, you can greatly increase your chances of success through envisioning them with a vision board. To boot, it is incredibly fun to create and a big mood boosting activity!
Typically, a vision board is a creative collection of images, meaningful quotes or anything else that you find to be inspiring or representative of what it is you want. There aren’t any set rules about how to create it, since you should personalize it to inspire you in your own unique way. You may have a vision board that focuses on one single idea, while another might embrace the bigger picture of your long term vision. The only consistent attributes among all vision boards is that they must clearly show what you want in your life and it should be somewhere that is frequently seen.
The Boons of Vision Boarding
1. You Get Clear on What your Goals Really Are
If you want to become highly successful and live your dream life, you must be absolutely clear about what that dream life actually looks like. Many people live in mediocrity because they have unclear dreams and vague goals. When you ask someone what he or she wants, most likely, they will tell you that they want more money, they want to be happier, or they simply want to live a healthy life. These are vague wishes and are not clear goals that will bring them somewhere specific.
2. It creates an Intention
Success starts with intention. No matter what you want to accomplish in your life, the intention has to be there first. Everything starts as an idea in someone’s head before it is manifested into the real world. Computers, chairs, earbuds and cars existed only as an idea at first. Because the intention was there, people were able to transform their ideas into real physical products. The same principle applies to what you want to have in your life. So this activity gets you thinking and sets clear intentions about what it is you want.
3. It Increases Creativity and Gets You out of the ‘Ruts’
Albert Einstein once said, “Logic will get you from A to B. Imagination will take you everywhere.” The more vivid the pictures you see through your mind, the better the results. Einstein discovered the Theory of Relativity through imagining himself riding the sunbeam to the universe. So harness the power of creativity through the use of vision boards.
4. It is Motivating
Your vision board can act as a lighthouse that guides you and keeps you motivated. Achieving extraordinary results in life is not easy, so you need motivation to keep taking daily steps and stay on course even when things get difficult. One way to do this is through the use of vision boards and visualization.
5. It Unleashes Your Inner Potential
One of the most fun parts about creating a vision board is that there are no limits. You can have absolutely anything you want! You can live in a big castle, write a best selling novel, or travel first class to the most exotic places on earth. Limitless thinking is a breeding ground for limitless possibilities!!
